Day 30 – Awaiting Angels
Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you ~ Joshua 1:9
Then Came a Whisper
Giving up is easy, and there are always byways that lead us astray; still, prayer and promise keep us on course.
The day’s challenges offered the God-man choices that became a puzzle whose solution was outside His experience. The tempter taunted His motivations, and Jesus ran out of excuses. The battle paused, and in the lull, He counted each heartbeat. Then came a whisper, just on the edge of hearing, speaking hope–so, in faith, He took His next step. And then another, and soon, He was on His way.
The wind brings unexpected words, quiet but steady, soft and unyielding, leading to still waters that restore our souls. Promises echo faintly, yet we still hear them—or do we only remember hearing them? We must hold on, hold out, and hold firm as heartless jackals taunt us with the singular purpose of breaking our wills.
The voices heckle, yet we recall a sound from the past—a still, small voice—and believe with surety that the still, small voice is louder.
