Day 17 – Awaiting Angels
In the image of God He made mankind ~ Genesis 9:6
The wilderness polished Christ’s inner beauty with heat and sand. The cold annealed Him and made Him strong. Challenges refined and sharpened His thoughts and consecrated His heart in the winds of virtue—virtue waiting on the promises of the Father.
The hammer and anvil of God ring bright and clear, resounding across empty spaces; in them, we begin to glimpse our selfishness. Our faults are no surprise to God, who looks ahead to the finished work of our perfection and delights in us as we change.
As we contemplate and navigate, the line between our spirits and souls becomes clear, forming boundaries that define who we are and who we are not. This truth releases freedom and reveals the image of God living in us.
Each day, we marvel at every gift we find in unexpected places. Our true selves awaken as we leave behind the old. With every word of our King, our hearts find peace in the waiting until the waiting itself becomes peace. It is then that we find lasting contentment.
Thanks for joining me on this adventure. Twenty-four days to go.
