Day 14 – Awaiting Angels
Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you ~ James 4:10
After a short while in the wilderness, the God-man was forced to come to grips with His smallness. The astonishing revelation is that in humility, He was released into simple freedom to be who he was meant to be. This is Christ’s freedom and is ours to claim.
As we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, we are released from the chains of ‘have to be,’ ‘want to be,’ and ‘should have been,’ and find that in Christ, those toxic thoughts disappear. What remains are the powerful realities of ‘where we’ve been,’ ‘who we are,’ and ‘where we’re going.’
As we journey in faith, we begin to shed the unhealthy attachments that burden us. We change, with time and toil, into a wind-sailing eagle and never look back.
Yet an eagle on the wind is just a speck in the sky as the broad earth opens. Like a bird on the wing or a serpent in the dust, we can’t ignore the vastness surrounding us. So, with holy fear and trembling, we begin to sense the expansive majesty of our Creator God
