Day 13 – Awaiting Angels
He answered their prayers because they trusted in Him ~ 1 Chronicles 5:20
Sometimes, when we desire to hear God’s voice, His silence is deafening. Little things are amplified in the wilderness. Dry rivers and empty canyons echo with each tiny sound, and our heartbeats reverberate like drums at night. We strain to hear the faintest whisper and relish an insect's buzz or a dry leaf's soft flutter. The subtle speech of the wind among the rocks resonates and taunts with age-old truths to draw us deeper in, and then, in simplicity, comes revelation.
God reveals Himself the way He chooses, not necessarily in the manner or place we’re looking for. So, in waiting, our faith is released. To receive His gifts, we must genuinely trust Him. Trust is the most challenging thing we do because it requires risk. Authentic confidence in God is virtue unmasked.
As Christ walked along the rugged desert paths, His feet followed the contours of the land. Whether steep or smooth, slippery, sandy, soft, or solid, His legs carried Him as He adapted. The knowledge of God has a price. He shows the way, but we must step into it. He provides the cross, but we, with his help, must carry it.
