Awaiting Angels - Day 4
All things become visible when they are exposed by the light. Ephesians 5:13
Catapulted into a land of contrasts, Jesus felt the buffeting extremes of heat and cold leave His body longing for liminal places, those places and times “in-between, " which became a consolation in the extremes.
The deserts of life condense things: They compress priorities, thoughts, worries, and doubts into a single entity—fear. Then, unmistakably, they display that fear, brash and bold for unveiled viewing. Our exposed soul—now open to inspection—is also open to redemption. With all laid bare, we become freely exposed to the cleansing power of light. So, our sins are washed away in the blood of Christ.
Like dewdrops on a leaf in the morning chill, the gift of dryness and the power of waiting flow together in a timeless dance amid the fixed landscape. In the desert, the sun shines brighter, and the shadows cut the brightness with deep shades of contrast. The dark and light flow together in an ever-present display of unstoppable change.
